Democrats Have An Obligation To Tell The Truth
A plea for the Left to reach for a higher standard
This seems like a stupid thing to have to write, but Democrats have an obligation, in my opinion, to tell the truth. With half of the country suffering from mass psychosis, under the spell of a lunatic, and aided and abetted by a media environment willing to foment violence for cash, those of us who believe in democracy, the rule of law, and truth, must hold ourselves to a higher standard, even on a platform as seemingly inconsequential as Facebook. In a world full of blind men, the one-eyed man is king, and this king has a responsibility to first, do no harm.
We live in difficult times, where each citizen of this republic, has the power to affect public opinion. This power is entirely unwarranted and derives itself not from truth or facts, expertise or knowledge, but mere technological wizardry.
If you are going to post things to social media in this time, I believe you have an ethical and moral obligation to get it right. To be as accurate as you can be. To do your own research, your own due diligence, to think critically and thoughtfully, before you post that meme, comment or accusation.
