I do think you can point to a few key decisions that upended our democracy and caused most of our problems.

1. Eliminating the Fairness Doctrine.

We now have an out of control media ecosystem that is not only a closed loop, but it doesn’t have any obligation to support the truth.

2. Citizens United.

Our politicians are not longer accountable to voters, but to corporations, lobbyists, and wealthy benefactors.

Our political system has stopped even trying to goverm. The only purpose is to stay in power.
