I don’t understand where you’re coming from, to be perfectly honest.

I don’t see any policy answers from the Republican Party, either good or bad, only obstructionism. They offer nothing, imo, except a preview of authoritarianism and a theocratic oligarchy. They’re abandoning democracy altogether.

Therefore, I can’t fathom what a middle ground would be between democracy and fascism. Finally, I can’t think of two many people more diametrically opposed than Joe Manchin and Bernie Sanders.

The Democrats know what they want. Their policies haven’t failed so much as they’ve never been able to enact most of them. For a number of reasons, including GOP obstructionism, they’ve been unwilling or unable to simply push their agenda through.

The Republicans have no such reticence. For decades, Republicans relied mainly on their economic theories, all of which have proven to be wrong (trickle down, etc…). All they have left to argue about are manufactured culture war issues. But they seek zero bipartisan support.

I’m not giving you a hard time, but I can’t for the life of me understand your point of view.

A cranky romantic searching for hope and humor. I tell stories. Most of them are true. I’m not at all interested in your outrage, but I do feel your pain.
