I hate the spectacle that the Super Bowl has become and the halftime show is the epitome of the degradation that the NFL has come to represent. I’ve never felt one way or another about Rihanna as it’s not really my style of music. I liked her and Shy Ronnie on SNL. So I thought it was stupid, but fine.

These are no longer musical performances. They’re choreographed, theatrical spectacles designed to draw in non-football fans.

Why did we need to hear a selection of her (not new) greatest hits? Idk. I have the same problem with these stupid country music acts.

Prince was the only one that stood out to me because…shit, it was Prince. I’m surprised he didn’t just ascend to Heaven from the stage.

The idea that you can’t be critical about a performance that was barely musical is a sign of the times in which we live.
