I know there are all manner of Japanese knives that I’m unfamiliar with. I like Global because they’re good knives, easy to find, and relatively inexpensive. I don’t actually even own one, but have given a few of those as gifts as well. My only Wusthof is a bread knife. :) You can get loopy with high end cutlery.
