You’ve assumed a lot about me. My family is from Oklahoma. I’ve lived all over the country. I’ve traveled all over the world. Been to Dallas and Dubai. Moscow and Montana. My kids are Republicans and own guns.

I grew up in a conservative Christian community and I know how they think because I know what they teach. This isn’t some insolent Eastern prep school bullshit. I did everything from home schooling to Mennonites. I did mission trips. I know the world.

But if you really want to know me, ask me how the church betrayed me for a shot at political power. You want to know why I’m angry about the right? Beyond blatant cruelty? That’s why.
