I suspect there is not much difference or no equivalent. GOWs are just GOM with different genitals. The word curmudgeon is almost always gender specific, which I find odd. Why? But the attributes we associate with being a curmudgeon are certainly masculine. So a female who presents more like a male, such as Fran Lebowitz, can be a curmudgeon because their approach has a more masculine feel. I also think men can be curmudgeons and still be thought of as kindly, like Lou Grant or Andy Rooney. Do women get the same pass? Idk.

A cranky romantic searching for hope and humor. I tell stories. Most of them are true. I’m not at all interested in your outrage, but I do feel your pain.
