I think coming out as something other than what people perceive you as has to be difficult. Declaring that you haven’t decided what you are, or that no one gets to decide what you are, is entirely self-indulgent. You didn’t have to say anything.

But I’ve been wrong before. I could be wrong here as well.

Better to have the conversation. Maybe someone will convince me otherwise.
