I’m much more open to the idea that gender roles are a social construct then the idea that gender itself is a social construct. A female cheetah is a female cheetah. It’s a fact that they’re female, just as it’s a fact that they’re a cheetah. It’s not a social construct.

Just because we have opposable thumbs and the capacity for abstract thought doesn’t mean we aren’t animals. It’s not the only important thing, but it’s real.

I think examining our sense of reality is always good. Nothing wrong with an intellectual exercise. But as you say, sometimes a fact is a fact whether we like it or not.
