It might happen but not without millions dying. It’s not something I can consider theoretically or nonchalantly. Also, if the US collapsed I hardly think a bunch of ideological intellectuals are going to be the ones to form a new government and then relinquish power. We’re far more likely to end up with independent states or warlords.
