Let me give you an example.

It was about encouraging women (and girls) to be their own heroes. Read it for yourself. I happened to use a scene from the movie “Whip It!” because I thought it did an excellent job of illustrating the point. The movie stared Elliot Page, who at that time was presenting himself as a young woman and was playing the part of a young, female character. I went out of my way to use all the correct pronouns.

I was still blasted for using a picture from the film because this was supposed a “deeply painful part of this person’s life.”

So, now we have to revise history as well? Can we no longer talk about who won the decathlon in 1976? If it was a woman they have some explaining to do and some medals to return.
