Let’s Face It, Newsbreak Is A Right Wing Haven

A more subversive strategy is needed to penetrate the right wing media bubble.

I tried it. Didn’t everyone? I was captivated by the idea of writing whatever I wanted and getting paid to do it. Who wouldn’t be? But if you pay attention to what they publish and what they don’t, it’s clear that Newsbreak, a Chinese owned company, prefers a right wing bent, even as they claim they want balanced news. They proclaim a desire to be unbiased but they publish plenty of right-wing, dog whistle drivel.

I occasionally write for them. They pay, sort of. I’ve made real money (over $1700 one month) but it’s sporadic, specious, and they change the rules regularly and almost without rationale.

I posted a few articles today after being quiet for months. All were something I’d posted elsewhere (they don’t care if it’s republished), but one of them was something that had gotten a lot of positive attention.

First they didn’t like the title. Said it was click bait. It wasn’t even close. I changed it. Then they said I was using abusive words (angry?). Finally they told me I had to add “Opinion:” before the title. So I did. Then they rejected it because they said it was “biased.” Biased. An opinion piece. Are they out of…
