So back to my point of who we want to influence. It is not the true believers. Nothing will drag them away. No, it is the left-leaning, occasional voters who show up periodically for big turnout elections. Those are the ones we need to frighten into action. That means the Democratic base as well, including Blacks and Hispanics, who have historically stayed home for midterm elections.

Republicans vote on command. Democrats vote when they feel like it.
