That you would presume to condescend to me over the idea that human communication is anything less than propaganda to make yourself feel superior is also pretty telling. What was it you were looking for? Divine truth?

I wasn’t writing some presumptuously objective piece of journalism on what happened where and when. This is entirely editorial. I have an objective, and a point to make.

Advertisements of any kind are propaganda. They are used to promote a product or service. An ad that promotes one brand of toothpaste over another is an example of propaganda. Political signs, commercials, and messaging are also examples of propaganda. Political messaging is always propaganda. The “I have a dream” speech that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, was propaganda.

Using that word in today’s civic debate fraught with tension is simply incendiary for effect.

A cranky romantic searching for hope and humor. I tell stories. Most of them are true. I’m not at all interested in your outrage, but I do feel your pain.
