When Complaining Is Too Meta For The Medium

We used to call it telling tales outside of school, which was always considered bad form. Today I think it’s just par for the course on social media. If we aren’t complaining about the platform we’re on, are we even really present to begin with?

I was originally going to publish this to one of the pubs, but rather than keep publishing these types of stories, I think I’ll just pin this one to my profile and keep updating it, like an open Google doc, but just for me. Of course, I encourage people to comment with their own pet peeves and disappointments. My fear in submitting it to a publication is that they would not appreciate me constantly updating it. If you’re an editor and think this belongs on your page, I’d be happy to move it as long as you’re okay with it being updated periodically.

For now, maybe I just need to get over my self-loathing and jump right in. Despite my curiosity, interest, and attention, here are a few of my issues with the platform:
